Objective:
Design and install a suspended maintenance system for this existing building, which did not meet OSHA and ANSI/IWCA I-14.1 requirements for suspended maintenance workers. This code-compliant system includes anchors installed in concrete beams or columns to avoid roof penetrations where possible. Where these beams and columns were not available, roof anchors were installed. To avoid disturbing tenants in tenant occupied areas, roof anchors were mounted with chemical anchor fasteners where possible. Remaining anchors had to be wrapped around concrete joists, which involved working in tenant occupied areas after office hours. |
